Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs): Oral Surgery

How can we help you?

Patient education is an essential part of the services we provide at Won Sung, DDS. We've found that patients who understand the positive impact that good oral health can have on their lives are more likely to be proactive about dental care.

We know you have access to lots of information, but we certainly don't expect you to be an expert about dentistry or find answers to all your own questions. The more information you have, the better prepared you are to make important decisions when the time comes. We've listed a few frequently asked questions here, but you are more than welcome to contact our office if you don't see your question answered or you want more information

Oral Surgery

Woman sitting in dental chair | Elgin IL DentistWe make every effort to provide injections that are as pain-free and comfortable as possible. Dr. Sung has a very gentle touch and years of experience in delivering injections slowly and carefully to minimize any pressure or discomfort.

One method we use for easing your injections involves a small but effective device called the Vibra-Jet. The principle behind the device is that the syringe vibrates very slightly, which stimulates nerve endings and blocks the pain message to the brain.

Comfortable Dentistry

Our team is highly sensitive to the fact that many of our patients are apprehensive about injections. We’ll do everything we can to put you at ease. When you feel comfortable with us, you’ll be able to approach your appointment knowing that you’re being cared for by familiar people who understand your concerns.

If you have any concerns about an injection before your procedure, please don’t hesitate to tell us. We know very few people who actually enjoy getting shots, so you’re certainly not alone in your fearful feelings. If something’s bothering you, we want to know so that we can tailor your treatment to fit your specific needs.

Please give our Elgin dental office a call if you’d like to learn more about our comfortable injections.
