Their passion for building relationships and helping our patients achieve outstanding oral health is evident in every interaction. They understand the importance of working as a team to consistently provide our patients with the highest standard of care possible. Our goal is to treat you like a welcome member of our family while we help you and your family enjoy the best dental health possible.
We hope to meet you soon, but in the meantime, please take a moment to meet our amazing team!
Won Sung, DDS
Hi, my name is Won Sung, your new dentist. I also go by "Michael." I recently purchased this practice from Dr. Bruce McLane. In the time I've been here, I'm gratified to find that Dr. McLane's former patients have been very accepting during this transition and quickly welcomed me as their new dentist. I look forward to continuing to meet old and new patients alike. I know that this smooth change of ownership would not be possible without the help of our wonderful team members, Carla, Tina, Pat, Faith, and Elizabeth.
I am a South Korea-born Canadian, and my parents and sister still reside in Vancouver, British Columbia. I graduated from Magee Secondary School with honors and attended Simon Fraser University for my undergraduate degree in Honors Molecular Biology and Biochemistry.
I was then admitted to the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, a highly acclaimed and prestigious dental school known for its leading role in oral health education and research. While attending dental school I met my wife, who was then an Economics student at UC San Diego. My wife joined me a short time later after completing her school in California. During my third year of dental school, we had our first child, Julie.
Upon successful completion of my dental degree, we moved to Naperville, Illinois. Before purchasing our Elgin practice, I worked in large group dental practices in Bourbonnais and Aurora.
My wife, Ju Young, and I have been blessed with two daughters, Julie and Sophie. On weekends, we all enjoy going to the park, zoo, museums, and playgrounds. They keep us really busy, and I do my best to maintain balance between work and family.

Hi, my name is Tina. I have been a dental hygienist for 21 years. Before I was interested in dental hygiene, I had been a dental assistant for three years. I graduated from Southern Illinois University Dental Hygiene Program in 1993.
I love interacting with patients, helping them feel comfortable, and guiding them to make informed decisions about the health of their mouth and teeth. After graduation, I worked for a year here in the U.S., then chose to take a job opportunity overseas in Zürich, Switzerland for two years. The learning experience I took from there was not only valuable, but also rewarding.
For the past seven years, I have been serving on the Advisory Board for the dental assisting program at Elgin Community College. It is an honor to provide great quality care to all my patients and get to know them and their families. In my free time, I love to be with my family and friends. I love traveling and scuba diving. I also have a soft spot in my heart for animals.
Hi! My name is Laura. I am new to the practice, but have been a hygienist for many years. I am an extrovert and love treating and meeting new people every day. I think dental education is a priority as people are living longer and do not want to lose their teeth. It is very important to me to establish relationships with our patients. People like to be remembered, and everyone has a story. I am certified to administer local anesthetic and I am also a certified CPR instructor. As for my personal life, I am married to Rick, someone I went to high school with (believe it or not). We have one daughter, Natalie, who is in college. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, walking, practicing yoga, and teaching CPR.
Angela graduated from Elgin Community College’s dental assisting program in 2016. She went through a rigorous training to be able to handle both clinical and office administration duties. During her clinical dental assisting semester, she spent a number of weeks in our office to focus on hands-on practical experience. Angela is proficient in all aspects of dentistry and is currently an office administrator in charge of our front office. We are very proud of her interpersonal skills. You will see her smiley face when you come in, and hear her pleasant and calm voice when you call our office.
Chairside Dental Assistant
Andrea joined our team in 2019 as a chairside dental assistant. She is a recent graduate of Elgin Community College's Dental Assisting Program. Jocelyn is cross-trained so she’s able to handle both front office administration duties as well as the back office functions. Currently, she is responsible for everything that goes on behind the curtain. She handles all supplies, lab cases, operatory set up, and chairside assisting. When the front desk is occupied, Jocelyn answers phone calls and makes follow-up or post-op calls. She is also bilingual, proficient in both English and Spanish, and is a great asset to our dental practice. Jocelyn attends ECC part time to complete her pre-requisites in order to apply for a dental hygiene school in the future.
